Uzziah Conger

Uzziah Conger was born Jan 14, 1758 in Woodbridge, Middlesex, NJ and died June 21, 1841. He served in the Revolutionary War for seven years, a part of said service was being a corporal of Van Wie's Company of the 3rd Albany County Regiment Troops. He also served in the 5th Rensselaerwyck Regiment.* He was a Revolutionary War prisoner. He was married to Mary Hungerford on January 19, 1780. He is the son of Job Conger and Lydia Coddington.  He removed with his father's family from Rahway, NJ for Dutchess County, NY about 1770, and the family settled in Albany County, NY. He removed with his family after the revolution to Cayuga County NY, where he died at Cato, NY. He had 10 children among them were: Job, Elizabeth, Nancy, James, Enoch (a veteran of the War of 1812, captured as prisoner as well), Sabria, Lucy, Mary, Silas, and Lydia.

Buried in Ira Hill, NY**

He served as a corporal in the 5th regiment, Albany County, New York Militia. He was born in Woodbridge. N.J. Died Cayuga County, New York.***

Uzziah Conger applies 15 September 1832 Cayuga County NY age 74 a resident of Ira NY, Soldier was born in Woodbridge NJ and lived in Bethlehem in Albany County NY at enlistment. Soldier's pension applied for by daughter Sabria, wife of Daniel Cogswell.  Applied 10 March 1853 Cayuga County NY as soldier’s legal heir.****
